Organizations and Charities You Can Support to Help Assist the COVID Response

 

There are many charities and relief funds out there, it can be hard to know where to put your resources to help the most. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but hopefully it can be a starting point for trusted and known organizations that are currently fully involved in supporting the fight against COVID.

 

1. Seattle Foundation

The Seattle Foundation is a local organization enabling local philanthropy.  According to their website, “The COVID-19 Response Fund is rapidly deploying resources to community-based organizations that are supporting local workers and families most affected by the coronavirus crisis.”

 

2. Windermere Foundation – Neighbors in Need

The Windermere Foundation has created the Neighbors in Need campaign to support local communities in which Windermere operates, by donating to food banks that need it.

 

3. Local Seattle Funds and Volunteer Organizations

This page contains information and web links for City of Seattle, King County, Washington State, federal, and community programs and services that help residents significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This list of resources, volunteer organizations, and GoFundMe pages covers a wide range of ares where you can directly help.

 

4. Feeding America

Feeding America is a United States–based nonprofit organization that is a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that feed more than 46 million people through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies. Forbes ranks it as the second largest U.S. charity by revenue.

 

5. Doctors Without Borders

Doctors Without Borders (Known as Medecins Sans Frontiers) is a non profit providing an extensive network of medical and healthcare support locally and globally.

 

6. World Health Organization

The World Health Organization has put together a COVID Solidarity Response Fund which provides medical assistance, equipment and logistics based help worldwide.

 

7. Ronald McDonald House Western Washington

Ronald McDonald House Charities offers housing and food for families of children receiving care at Seattle Children’s Hospital or a nearby children’s satellite clinic.
