When selling my home in Lynnwood, my first listing agent was (there's no nice way to put it) lazy. There was never a flyer in the sign, almost no promotion, always brought his young children with him to meetings, and to cap it all off, failed to catch a leak that caused damage to the house that ultimately cost $35,000 to repair. I lived out of state at the time and he had assured me that everything was taken care of. It wasn't. As a result my property spent over a year on the market with no offers and a hefty insurance issue to deal with. I needed a new listing agent big time.

I met Joe Mustach while interviewing a handful of new listing agents, including many referrals from co-workers and family. Joe was the only agent we met that we didn't have a personal referral from. We found him through a packet of information that was mailed to us, so he was not by any means a shoe in. When I met with Joe, he was brutally honest with us about a market that was on the decline (this was late 2010) in our area. Although, he didn't paint the pretty picture we wanted to see like others we interviewed, he did far more actual research on our property and showed more hustle than anyone else. Long story short, we gave him a chance, got an offer within a week or so, and sold the house within a month at a fair price. Joe's son even offered his services to mow the lawn for far less than a landscape company would have cost for the short time we were on the market.
